It was a thrill to deliver scenic flowers and wild styling for the Opening Night Gala of the London Film Festival. Produced by our friends at DDA, the fabulous party was set around the star studded and devilishly eccentric Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
The statement bar designs featured weathered gothic stone urns filled with creepy, gnarled branches and twigs festooned with plumes of Spanish moss (a signature element of the Deep South landscape), with hanging amaranthus, asparagus ferns and flowers that evoked death – such as lilies and roses. On the occasional tables, smaller designs were made to echo the bar design, full of texture and drama.
It’s always such fun getting under the skin of a film to transform a venue, and the BFI Bar at the Southbank Centre was the perfect canvas.
